Te Kohao Health was established in 1984 as a Joint Venture with the Union Health Centre (UHC). The UHC was responsible for the administrative management of the company and Te Kohao Health was responsible for client registrations. This partnership facilitated the exchange of information and technical expertise to enable both health centres to run efficiently. After 18 months the joint venture came to an end and Te Kohao Health now operates independently. Te Kohao Health is a member of the Toiora PHO Coalition.
